Livescribe Announces the Android App for Livescribe 3 smartpens

Great news from Livescribe and for those of us using Android mobile phones and tablets.

Earlier this week Livescribe announced that an Android app for the Livescribe 3 smartpens will be released during US spring (think mid-April here in Australia and New Zealand – possibly just after school holidays).

Android app for Livescribe 3 announcedI’ve spent this week at CES with Livescribe playing with the new app, and talking about the future smartpen product range – 2015 is going to be an exciting year for the company.

More about the Android app

The Android version of Livescribe+ will provide full support for the Livescribe 3 smartpen, and will include the key features already in the iOS version of the app.

“Since launch, we’ve been adding new features to Livescribe+ for iOS and also introducing expanded functionality through partnerships with Moleskine, Evernote, Microsoft and Fluid Touch,” said Gilles Bouchard, CEO of Livescribe. “Now we can start to bring those innovations to Android devices this spring and combine the physical world of pen and paper with Android smartphones and tablets.”

Just received my livescribe 3 and the android app cannot come soon enough. Please let us know how you get on with the beta testing option for us Australians.
    Keep up the cracking work.

    Cheers,

Good to see they have expanded beyond just supporting iOS. Do you know if there are any plans to support Windows Phone as well?

    • Mark Parker says:

      Hi Brian
Unfortunately I don’t think we’ll see support for Windows mobile products until well into 2016 – which is a shame as some of the new tablet/hybrid devices I’m seeing a really nice looking products and every user I’ve spoken to speaks highly of them.

      cheers Mark

    Hi there,
I’m looking for a beta test program for the Livescribe 3 Pen Android app, but I got a “Access Denied” message when I tried to open the https://www.smartpen.com.au/android-beta page. Is there any requirements for the Beta test?
    Regards,

Do we have a release date yet? I have been waiting very patiently for the android release, but am getting very tempted to try the Neo Smartpen as my patience and confidence in Livescribe is wearing thin. Please advise.
