Images of the new Livescribe 3 smartpen

Earlier today the new Livescribe 3 smartpen was released with New Zealand and Australian being the first markets to go live (and yes I put NZ ahead of Australia for time zone reasons only!)

I’ve been buried in beta testing and reviews for a few weeks now and the one thing I’ve come to enjoy is pulling the 3 out and watching the look on the face of my colleagues. So I’m sharing some of my favourite images here…

Oh Wow, New Packaging

The new Livescribe 3 retail package - major wowSeriously, the packaging is amazing. Maybe I’m strange because I pay attention to detail – but this package hits the spot.

The New Pen Design

Do More With Your Words

Livescribe 3 smartpen allows you to do more with your wordsThe Livescribe+ app is going to amaze. Not only does it have hand writing conversion built in, it also allows you to do more with your micro notes – those small snippets of writing that mean so much – the address, and appointment time and date, the email address or phone number.

With your Livescribe 3 smartpen and Livescribe+ your notes become more useful when they are tagged, organised, searchable, and available in other apps.

Like it! Will have to check it out …
    🙂

Would love to see more integration with other software from the Livescribe app. Can you use Evernote more effectively with it? Not just sending PDF images of notes but sending individual bits of text that has been recognised by the app to Evernote? Can it sync with Omnifocus so you can send a ‘to-do’ straight to that software? Are Livescribe promising to update the app to add to its capabilities to manipulate the notes it saves?

    • Mark Parker says:

      Hi Richard
The default share to Evernote is the PDF document. You can also swipe your notes over so as to expose the converted text and then extract this and save into Evernote.

I’m not familiar with Omnifocus? how does it interact with iCloud?

Finally, in relation to updates, there has already been a number of updates released since launch. I have been informed that many changes and new features are planned for the app in the coming year.

      cheers Mark
