Updated Livescribe Product Range – Important Information

With the launch of the new Sky WiFi smartpen range there are some changes being made to the Livescribe product line up.

Firstly, and this is really important…The Echo smartpen is NOT being retired or withdrawn from sale, nor is it obsolete. So please don’t believe anyone or any other site that says this. What is happening is the Echo product range is being rationalised – Livescribe IS keeping a wired product available – namely the entry level 2GB Echo smartpen.

New Livescribe Product Range

From today, the range of smartpens available through our site is per the table below – which also shows you the key differences across models.

Updated Livescribe product range

You may find that there are still Echo 4GB, 8GB, and 8GB Pro Packs available in Australia and New Zealand – if your preference is for the Echo solution – wired with content stored in Livescribe Desktop – then I’d suggest you’ll find some good deals around so do your research or contact me directly as we may be able to put together a deal for you. I’ve been using my Echo 8GB smartpen for the past few years and it’s still a fantastic product.

Questions?

If you’ve got any questions about the new Sky WiFi smartpen product, or whether you should upgrade, just reach out via phone, email, or our social channels – You know we can help you out.

How Are We Doing?

For some time now I’ve been a fan of the Australian product/service review site Product Review. We’re now including reviews of both the Livescribe product plus our own performance on most if not all product pages on our social commerce platform. You can now use Product Review to leave feedback on both our performance as well as your feedback about your smartpen. The feedback you leave will be in the public domain – we will respond to all feedback!

  1. Hey Mark,

How does the pen’s handle the data once it’s been uploaded to evernote? i.e. does it clear the files stored on the pen after upload, or after a number of months? or is there some other mechanism to clear the pen/archive a notebook? Alternatively, is this done through the USB connector as with the Echo pens – I think this would be a shame as I love my smart pen but the USB upload/process is a real burden on the entire experience.

Also, I’m keen to get my hands on one of these, do you know the leadtime on 2GB skypen?

    • Mark Parker says:

      Hi Scott,
Good to hear from you again.

In relation to your questions…(1) If the pen is connected to a wifi network – when you stop recording the pen will auto sync this to the Evernote account. You also have the option of tapping an icon in the notebook to initiate a sync. Also, when ever you power down the pen it will sync before shutting off. (2) You can remove content from the pen at your discretion in order to free up storage space.

In relation to the 2GB Sky – we’ve got them now – place an order before midday tomorrow and it will go out that day.

      cheers Mark
