MyScript for Livescribe – using MyScript on multiple machines

A question that we’re often asked by the Livescribe community here in Australia and New Zealand is whether MyScript for Livescribe can be used on more than one computer (i.e. a work laptop and a home computer). Many of our customers use their Livescribe Smartpen on multiple computers – I do the same.

As it stands, the license agreement for MyScript doesn’t permit this – so a user wanting to use MyScript across multiple machines would need to purchase additional copies of the software.

My question for the community is whether there is sufficient demand for a multi-machine option? Would it help if we had a single user/2 machine option for MyScript

This type of option is quite common in the software world, so we’ll ask the question and see whether we can encourage them to offer a multi-machine bundle.

Please let me know your thoughts

The product has been very popular with Livescribe users, so we’ve done two things:

  1. We’ve created a new product bundle – Livescribe 2GB Pulse Smartpen plus MyScript for Livescribe
  2. MyScript for Livescribe – a stand alone, fully licensed version of the product.

If you’re wondering how the product works, this blog post was created by my Livescribe pen. The image below is from MyScript and shows my hand written draft post on the left and then the transcription on the right.

I wrote out what I wanted in the blog post in my spiral notebook, and then used MyScript to turn my hand writing into text. This text was then copied into this blog post.

MyScript for Livescribe – MAC Version

Firstly, a MAC version of MyScript for Livescribe isn’t available – YET!

We’ve mentioned MyScript for Livescribe a couple of times (here and here). As MAC users, you’re aware that this product is PC only. One of the very helpful staff at Vision Objects in France (an Aussie girl no less) made the following comment about the lack of a MAC version:

If there is no Mac version it is just a question of commercial agreements and of workload priority. But I do urge Mac users to keep asking, as I think a mac version will come up on the cards, we have a lot of user feedback asking for Mac every day so it will have an effect soon I feel. Write to us at myscriptforlivescribe.support@visionobjects.com and keep pushing for your mac version !!

If you are a MAC user and feel MyScript for Livescribe would be a benefit, then I urge you to email Vision Objects supporting the case for a MAC version of MyScript.
