The New 2GB Echo Smartpen Starter Pack

I’m pleased to announce that Livescribe has expanded the Echo Smartpen product range with the introduction of the 2GB Echo Smartpen Starter Pack.

Being from the Echo Smartpen family it has all the characteristics of the 4GB and 8GB Echo’s.

For students and budget conscious professionals, the 2GB Echo Smartpen Starter Pack is a highly affordable option. It stores up to 200 hours of audio and comes with everything a person needs to get started including several sheets of Livescribe Dot paper as well as Connect Basic.

We’ll update this page over the next few days as we confirm when we expect to ship orders as well as any special pricing deals we introduce

Introducing the Australian Livescribe Pro Pack

Many of you would know that a Livescribe Pro Pack has been available in the US for some time. We’ve not had the option of offering this pack here in Australia. We’ve had lots of requests for it so we’ve created our own Australian version of the US product.

We now offer a 2GB Pro Pack and a 4GB Pro Pack. These packs include:

2GB or 4GB Livescribe Pulse Smartpen in Titanium (not black as shown on the US site)
MyScript for Livescribe – fully licensed version for Mac or PC
Pro charging Cradle
Premium Black Case.

Livescribe Pencast Example

We’ve written before about the new Pencast feature available in the Livescribe Desktop. It’s a very cool feature as it allows you to create YouTube-like snippets of content and then share this out with your audience.

So if you’ve been wondering about Pencasts – could you use them in a learning environment? Watch this Livescribe Pencast as it’s a great example of how to use this feature.

Livescribe Exhibiting at Education Forum in Sydney and Newcastle

I’m pleased to advise everyone that Smartpen, in conjunction with the team from Livescribe and BigAnt will be exhibiting at the Assistive Technology in Education and Employment 2009 Forum in Sydney and Newcastle in a little over a week’s time.

The event is over 2 days as follows:

Wednesday the 19th – Bankstown
Friday the 21st in Newcastle

I’m really excited about this two day event as we’ve done a lot of work this year helping institutions, teachers, and students understand how Livescribe can help them with their studies.

We’ve got a really nice offer for anyone who wants to purchase on the day (a big discount), and we’ll also be giving away a pen each day for anyone who stops by and drops a business card into our prize bowl.

If you’re in Sydney or Newcastle and involved in education or you’re supporting students who have learning disabilities then I’d love to meet you at one of the two events.

We’ll have both PC and Mac computers set up to demonstrate Livescribe
Both computers will have MyScript for Livescribe installed so you’ll also have a chance to see how the MyScript transcription software works
