Earlier today we announced the launch of the Livescribe Education Ambassador Program (LEAP).
LEAP was first introduced in the US last year, so it’s exciting to be the first international market with this program.
What is LEAP?
LEAP is a program designed to help teachers and educators use smartpens as part of an interactive learning environment. We basically looking for ambassadors who want to use the smartpen in a learning environment and who will be willing to share pencast stories about how Livescribe smartpens are having an impact on teaching and learning.
The program basics include:
- Teachers (who register interest) from across Australia and New Zealand will be given a Livescribe 4GB Echo smartpen
- The pack will include the Education Ideas Book – a guide for teachers with international examples of lesson pencasts, and tips on effective use.
- Teachers simply need to share a pencast with Smartpen – this may be used on our blog or as an example to show other teachers.
If you want to register or learn more about the program you can find the information here.

Hi Mark, Thanks for the information regarding the Education Ambassador Program. I expressed my interest when at the conference. Could you please remind me of the date when you will let those people who are lucky enough to be chosen know they have been selected for thr program.
Hi Cheryl
We’ve had a tremendous response to the program – we’ve captured your details from that conference – shhh, don’t tell anyone but you’re in the program…
cheers Mark
Hi Mark,
I have spent a lot of time trying to come to terms with the right sort of technology that could be using in the context of ‘flip classroom’. I have had not been satisfied with the tablet technologies – the graphics were cumbersome and the ergonomics were challenging. Well someone said, ‘it is always the last place you look’. I have been using the Pulse Smartpen and it has been great although I do like the additional features of the Echo (direct to screen display). Having seen what is happening in the States with Smartpens and I could not understand why Australia didn’t seem to be adopting this technology. It has been most pleased to see the LEAP. It would be great to sense that there is a community of educators using this technology. Do you have or intending to have a ‘roadshow’ to promote these products?
Are there product offers available to students – especially if they appeared on the booklist?
PS: I would like to have the option to export to MP4 – internet access can be rather challenging from behind an Education Firewall.
Thanks Daryl
